The Micro Lift

A ligament anatomy based technique for the rejuvenation of the middle and lower third of the face and neck using bipolar radiofrequency.

Minimally invasive treatments are increasingly used because they provide good results and shorter recovery times than traditional interventions. “Weekend procedures,” in which the patient undergoes surgery on a Friday and can resume normal activities by Monday, are trending. The increasingly frenetic pace of life has forced plastic surgery to adapt, reducing recovery times with more precise and minimally invasive protocols and techniques.

This minimally invasive cervicofacial rejuvenation technique performed with FaceTite and Morpheus8 by InMode is in line with the new needs of modern society.

MICROLIFT: DOES IT WORK?

MICRO-Lift is the acronym for minimally invasive, combined radiofrequencies, outpatient lift. This means that it is a minimally invasive technique that uses a combination of FaceTite radiofrequency to perform an outpatient cervicofacial lift. This innovative treatment eliminates sagging in the lower third of the face and neck without creating scars, unlike traditional facelifts.

FaceTite, a thin gold-coated fractional radiofrequency bipolar cannula, is inserted through five 2mm incisions located near the sideburns, behind the earlobe and on the chin.

This radio frequency heats the tissues from the depths, reaching temperatures of up to 63°C at depth, and on the surface temperatures reach around 40°C, causing subcutaneous coagulation responsible for tissue contraction.

Furthermore, heating the tissues stimulates fibroblasts, the main cells responsible for the production of collagen and elastin, present in greater proportions in the ligament regions.

The procedure is performed with local anesthesia, ensuring patient comfort throughout the process.

While the lower third of the face is treated through accesses near the sideburns, the entire neck is treated starting from the submental and retrolobular areas.

FaceTite is equipped with sensors that minimize the risk of burns. This, combined with fractional bipolar radiofrequency, reduces complications compared to older devices.

Before finishing the procedure, you can perform steps with Morpheus8, the fractional bipolar radiofrequency assisted with microneedling. This treatment helps improve the structure of the skin and, in combination with FaceTite, increases the effectiveness of the result, providing a further improvement to the external appearance of the skin.

The procedure takes about an hour and a half, and once completed, the patient can go home. Social recovery lasts about a week, during which I recommend wearing a headband at night to improve recovery.
