Hyaluronic acid is a sugar, naturally produced by our body with the aim of hydrating and preserving the elasticity of the tissues. It is commonly used as a filler to volumize and rejuvenate the face and body. I usually give the injection with a microcannula, to minimize the patient's discomfort and prevent the appearance of annoying bruises.
The products I use for this delicate area are specific and suitable for treatment. I do not use non-absorbable material which may lead to unpleasant situations.
The duration of treatment is variable, from 6 to 12 months depending on the patient and the products used.
The purified autologous fat filler is also a valid alternative for selected patients with autoimmune diseases that would prevent the use of hyaluronic acid filler. However, it can undergo a faster reabsorption.
